The University of Sheffield is glad to announce the offer of international LL Scholarships for international students for the 2024/2025 academic session. The International LLM Scholarship offers two scholarships worth £4,320 to two outstanding students.

- You must have accepted your offer from the University of Sheffield before 4.00 pm (UK time) on Friday 14 June 2024 to receive this award.
- The scholarship is worth £2,000 for courses in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and Faculty of Social Sciences and £2,500 for courses in the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Health, and Faculty of Science.
- No additional scholarship application is required, if you meet the eligibility and award criteria below the scholarship will be applied as a tuition fee discount.
Eligibility and Award criteria
To be considered for the International LLM Scholarship, candidates will have to be aware of and meet the following criteria:
- Your taught master’s program must be scheduled to commence at the University of Sheffield in September 2024.
- Subject to meeting the eligibility and award criteria the International Postgraduate Taught Sheffield Scholarship 2024 will be awarded automatically – no application is required.
- If you are selected for any of the above scholarships the most valuable award will take precedence.
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) and Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) courses are ineligible for the International Postgraduate Taught Scholarship 2024.
- You must study a course in full at the University of Sheffield. Masters programs split between the University of Sheffield and a partner institution is not eligible for a scholarship.
- The scholarship can be awarded with any available scholarships from the Department or Faculty you will be studying in, subject to not becoming a sponsored student*. Please use the funding calculator to determine if any scholarships are available from your Department/Faculty.
- The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction only.
- It would help if you were self-funded and classified as overseas for tuition fee purposes.
- All Crossways courses and Erasmus Mundus courses are ineligible for an automatic scholarship.
- The scholarship is for full-time and part-time students only. Students studying online or via distance learning are not eligible for the scholarship.
- If you are studying a 2-year Masters program the scholarship will be available in the second year of your studies subject to successful completion of year 1.
- For scholarship purposes, all March programs are considered postgraduate taught programs so are eligible for this scholarship.
- The scholarship does not apply to any years in industry or study abroad years that are compulsory or optional elements of your course.
- If you are receiving a loan (which has to be paid back in full) from an organization to which we offer a discount, you are not able to combine this scholarship with the discount – the most valuable award will take precedence.
- The scholarship cannot be awarded in conjunction with any of the following scholarships:
- The University of Sheffield Southern Africa Student Scholarship Fund
- International Postgraduate Taught Merit Scholarship
- Sir SY Chung Scholarship
- NCUK Postgraduate Taught Scholarship
- GREAT Scholarship for Egypt and Malaysia
- MBA Scholarship
These scholarships do not apply to any postgraduate courses where the higher clinical fee is applicable, this includes, but is not exclusive to the following courses:
- DClinDent Endodontics
- DClinDent Orthodontics
- MClinDent in Paediatric Dentistry
- MClinDent in Orthodontics
- MMedSci in Diagnostic Oral Pathology
- DClinDent Prosthodontics
- DClinDent Periodontics
General Requirements Needed Before Application
- You must have an academic offer from the University of Sheffield to study the full-time LLM (includes Sheffield LLM, LLM Corporate and Commercial Law, and LLM International Law and Global Justice pathways)
- You must demonstrate excellent academic abilities
- You must have an application number
- You must have obtained a relevant bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution of higher learning.
