Who can apply?

To apply for a Commonwealth Scholarship, you must be a citizen or endless occupant of a Commonwealth country. You’ll still be eligible if you’re an exile or a British-protected person.

You need to have an undergraduate honors degree of at least upper alternate class( 21). still, you’ll need an applicable master’s degree too, If you wish to study for a PhD.

Eligibility Criteria for Commonwealth Master’s Literacy 2025/26

To be considered for the Commonwealth Masters Scholarship, aspirants must meet the following criteria:

  • Aspirants must be from eligible low and middle-income Commonwealth countries or be British-defended persons.
  • Aspirants must take over full-time Master’s study at a UK university.
  • Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country.
  • Be available to start academic studies in the UK by the launch of the UK academic time in September 2025.
  • By September 2025, hold a first degree of at least upper alternate-class ( 21) honors standard, or a lower alternate-class degree and an applicable postgraduate qualification( generally a Master’s degree). The CSC would not typically fund an alternate Master’s degree. However, aspirants must justify why they wish to take over this study If applying for an alternate Master’s degree.
  • Be unable to go to study in the UK without this education.
  • Have handed in all supporting attestations in the needed format.

Scholarship Benefits

  • Approved airfare from the Scholar’s home country to the UK and returned at the end of the award( the CSC won’t repay the cost of fares for dependants, nor the cost of peregrinations made before the award is verified).
  • Approved education freights: full freights are covered by an agreement between the CSC and the UK university, and Scholars aren’t liable to pay for any part of the education figure.
  • Paycheck ( living allowance) at the rate of£ 1,378 per month, or£ 1,690 per month for those at universities in the London metropolitan area( rates quoted at current situations).
  • Warm apparel allowance, where applicable. Study trip entitlement towards the cost of study-affiliated trips within the UK or overseas.
  • If a Scholar has children and is widowed, divorced, or a single parent, child allowance of child allowance of £590 per month for the first child, and £146 per month for the second and third child under the age of 16 if their children are living with them at the same address in the UK.

Application procedures

How-to-Apply: Interested aspirants for the Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship are to submit their operations to the CSC using the CSC’s online operation system. As well as applying to the CSC, aspirants must apply to an elector.

Aspirants must upload the following documents with the application:

  • Evidence that they’re a citizen or have exile status in an eligible Commonwealth country is a dupe of a valid passport( or public ID card) showing a snap, date of birth, and country of citizenship.
  • Full reiterations detailing all advanced education qualifications, including to-date reiterations for any courses presently being studied, with pukka restatements if not in English. Where any reiterations are missing or don’t include all runners, the operation will be considered ineligible.
  • References from at least two individualities, in PDF format, inked and on institutional letterhead or a dispatch easily showing the sender’s details.
