Students worldwide can now apply for the 2024 EDESIA Science Scholarship at the University of East Anglia. This program aims to aid doctoral research in the Sciences: Plants, Food, and Health program to promote quality and high research standards.
The Edesia PhD Studentship Program in Science is funded by the Wellcome Trust at the University of East Anglia, and its award is open to outstanding students from all over the world. Each year, up to 5 studentships are made available and it provides funding for maintenance stipends, tuition fees, and a research and training support grant.
In addition, graduates will have access to funding to support the transition to the next stage of their careers.

Eligibility Criteria | EDESIA Science Scholarships 2024
To be eligible for this scholarship to study at the University of East Anglia.
- Applicants should have, or expect to obtain, a minimum of Upper Second Class UK Honors Degree or equivalent.
- Applicants must be International Students.
- Applicants must have to meet the English language competency requirement of the university. Waivers can be given in special cases.
- Scholarships awarded to students pursuing a Ph.D. degree program in Science-related research
Application Procedures for EDESIA Science Scholarships 2024
Interested and qualified candidates for the EDESIA Science Scholarships at the University of East Anglia must enroll in a Ph.D. degree program at the university.
- How to apply: To apply for the program, applicants would need to take part in the Ph.D. degree program at the University. After that, they can apply through the online application form.
- Supporting Documents:
The following documents will be required in the online form:
- Official transcripts ( in English ) of your Higher Education qualifications
- Evidence of your English Proficiency
- Two references: You will need to provide the contact details and email addresses of your two referees, personal statement Curriculum Vitae, and research Statement which will be up to 1500 words.
- Personal statement: The personal statement should be up to 500 words, it should be about the experience that brought you to the application and why you are applying for this particular area of study. How does your overall background lend itself to the EDESIA program and why do you want to do a Ph.D.?
- Research Statement: The research statement should be up to 1500 words and should include your own research experience, what research you would like to pursue and how this fits in with your future research and career aspirations and also, how it fits with the EDESIA program and it’s aims.
- You should also include areas of research within the program that would be of interest to you if appointed.
- Admission Requirements: The minimum academic requirement across the University for entry to a doctoral degree is either at least a 2:1 in a UK undergraduate degree, or a Master’s degree, or equivalent.
Some Schools and research degree programs have higher or more specific requirements. The applicant should read the requirements in detail before application.
- Language Requirement: Ensure you have to meet the English language competency requirement of the university.
