The Flinders International Research Scholarship (FIPRS) is a scholarship specifically intended to support international students that cover international tuition fees and also provides a stipend. The FIPRS is awarded on a competitive basis to candidates who demonstrate outstanding aptitude for independent research, academic merit, academic research training, and research indicators and performance.

This is a list of general requirements for Flinders University Australia’s study abroad program:
- At the time of admission, applicants had to have fulfilled the English Proficiency Levels that Flinders University had established for international students.
- The applicant is not qualified to be a permanent resident of Australia, New Zealand, or Australia as a citizen.
- English Proficiency:
If English is not your first language, you will require:
- Completed a pre-course English course from an authorized ELICOS Provider with success.
- Fulfilled the test score requirements for the course for which you are applying. The table below displays the IELTS scores and equivalent scores needed to meet each level. It is required to take the IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, and Cambridge exams in a designated testing facility.
- Completed an authorized secondary or postsecondary education program with success, taught in English in a nation where English is the official language or the primary language spoken (up to an overall IELTS score of 6.5), and provided documentation no older than five years as of the proposed course start date.
- Academic Qualifications:
- Candidates seeking an AGRTPS for a Master’s degree must not already hold a Master by Research qualification.
- For AGRTPS applicants, a Doctorate is not required.

- Academic Transcripts:
Avoid submitting secondary school diplomas or certificates that are not educational in nature.
Provide certified copies of your university’s academic transcripts translated into English.
- Research Proposal:
Craft a research outline of approximately 500 words, detailing the research issue, hypothesis or question, and the methodology to be employed.
- Academic Referees:
- Referees should possess a deep understanding of your academic capabilities and research potential.
- Complete Section A on two Academic Referee’s confidential Report forms and send them to your chosen referees.
- Ensure referees return the Academic Referee reports by the specified deadline.
- Publications:
- Each publication should be accompanied by a cover sheet.
- If you have more than five publications, consult with a Flinders University supervisor to select the most relevant ones, briefly explaining your choices.
