MIPLC-DAAD Scholarship 2024-26 for Developing Countries

MIPLC-DAAD Scholarship- Do you have the passion to advance your educational career are the postgraduate level? Are you a citizen of a developing country with a bachelor’s degree? With its development-oriented postgraduate study program, the DAAD promotes the training of specialists from developed and newly industrialized countries.

The scholarships offer foreign graduates from developed and newly industrialized countries from all disciplines and with at least two years’ professional experience the chance to take a postgraduate or Master’s degree at a state or state-recognized German university, and in exceptional cases to take a doctoral degree, and to obtain a university qualification (Master’s/PhD) in Germany.

MIPLC/DAAD Scholarship 2025  | Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Have received your last degree no more than six years before your application.
  • Must be from a developing country according to the OECD DAC List and have not been living outside their home country (or another developing country) for more than the past two years.
  • Possess at least a four-year Bachelor’s degree (or a three-year Bachelor’s degree plus a further degree), completed with above-average results.
  • Possess at least two years of full-time professional experience gained in a public authority or a state or private company in a developing country.
  • To meet this requirement, it is sufficient if the candidate has completed the two years by the time the program starts in October. In any case, the experience must have been gained after the completion of your first university degree.

Value of MIPLC-DAAD Scholarship:

  • The DAAD will pay the scholarship recipient(s) a monthly stipend of EUR 750.00.
  • In addition, the DAAD will generally pay an appropriate travel allowance, unless these costs are covered by the home country or by another funding source.
  • The scholarship recipient(s) will get a full tuition waiver from the MIPLC.
  • As a rule, the scholarship includes certain payments towards health, accident, and liability insurance coverage in Germany.
  • Furthermore, the DAAD will also pay a study and research allowance.
  • The scholarship does not cover additional costs, e.g. enrollment fees or the fees for a semester ticket for public transport in Munich.
  • Last but not least, the scholarship covers a mandatory two-month German course before starting the MIPLC LL.M. program.
Required Documents for the MIPLC-DAAD Scholarship
  • Letter of Motivation addressing selection criteria (max. two pages).
  • Transcript with an explanation of the grading system if not included.
  • CV in EUROPASS format.
  • Proof of language skills in English and German (if required).
  • Work certificate(s) for relevant professional experience.
  • University Certificates with a certified translation if not in German or English.
  • Letter of recommendation from current employer.

Application Procedures for the MIPLC-DAAD Scholarship

Applicants interested in applying for the MIPLC/DAAD Scholarship 2023/2024 are to complete their application before the deadline.

How to Apply for the DAAD MIPLC Scholarships: You may apply more than a year in advance. To apply for this scholarship, please proceed as follows:

  • Please refer to the List of all Postgraduate courses 2024/25 and read the information carefully.
  • Determine whether you are eligible to apply by DAAD and MIPLC standards, keeping in mind that where MIPLC and DAAD have differing requirements, stricter requirements prevail.
  • Apply for admission to the MIPLC (please refer to the How to Apply page).
  • When you come to the end of the online application form, check “I would like to apply for the DAAD scholarship” and complete the MIPLC Financial Assistance Application Form that opens automatically (please refer to the Financial Assistance Application Instructions).
  • Print the forms and add all required documentation, as per the instructions provided.
  • Make sure that your file is complete, including all three application forms which include;
  1. The MIPLC application form for admission;
  2. The MIPLC application form for financial assistance, and
  3. The DAAD application form for the scholarship
  • Download and complete the DAAD Scholarship Application Form and add the other documents required by the DAAD (please refer to the DAAD brochure; NB: the MIPLC does not require a research proposal). You only have to submit one copy of each document, even if a document, e.g. your CV, is required by both MIPLC and DAAD.
  • Send your application: Please submit your application directly to the MIPLC, unless you are from Cameroon, in which case you must submit your application through the German Embassy in your country. Your complete file must reach the MIPLC by October 15 of the year preceding the program start.
