The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Literacy Program brings together remarkable individualities from colorful disciplines and backgrounds with a participated interest in making Canada and the world a better place into a life-changing community.
It’s a program for outstanding scholars. While the Foundation continues to seek scholars with the topmost intellectual capacity and a track record of academic achievement, they’re also looking for those demonstrating the ability to engage with a plurality of perspectives, people, and societies, and who are committed to deep listening, profound curiosity, and exploring great ideas.

Eligibility Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Literacy Program
- To be considered, aspirants must be Doctoral scholars formerly accepted into or in time one, two, or three of a full-time program in the humanities or social lores whose work relates to one of the Foundation’s four themes Human Rights, and quality, Responsible Citizenship, Canada and the World, and People and their Natural terrain.
- Canadian citizens, whether at a Canadian or a transnational institution Up to 25 Scholars in a given time may be Canadians ( endless residers or foreign citizens) enrolled in a doctoral program at a Canadian institution You must be registered or accepted into a full-time doctoral program in time one or two.
- Your field of study is astronomically related to the humanities and social lores or mortal lores and is directly applicable to the future of Canada.
- Your doctoral work must relate to at least one of the Foundation’s four general themes Human Rights and Dignity, Responsible Citizenship, Canada and the World, People and their Natural terrain.
- You must be a Canadian citizen studying at a Canadian or foreign institution. Or you’re an endless occupant of Canada or a foreign public enrolled in a doctoral program at a Canadian institution.
Benefits of being a Foundation Scholar Addition

Exchanges and alleviation by and from Instructors and Fellows, including unique existential literacy openings that enrich and round your academic experience. Damage of over 50,000 per time for three times to cover education and reasonable living charges to concentrate on your doctoral studies.

- Learn about your university’s internal selection process deadlines Each university has a different internal deadline, so make sure that you apply on time.
- Register When the competition opens, register for an account on the Foundation’s operation portal.
- You’ll admit a username and word by dispatch within 4 business days of registering( please check your spam brochure if you don’t see it). Log in using your login credentials or request a word reset, If you formerly have an account from a former education competition.
- Fill out the operation Once you log in, you can apply by completing the operation form in the “ Ébauche/ Draft ” section of the gate.
- Please also fill out your contact information in the “ Coordonnées Connections ” section of the gate.
Get recommendation letters While filling out the operation form, you’ll be asked to enter the name and dispatch address of your two arbiters in the box handed. A dispatch will automatically be transferred to the arbiters, asking them to upload their reference letters in PDF format directly to our portal.
We advise that you follow up with your references to ensure they’re submitted on time. Upload reiterations Upload reiterations covering all of your post-secondary Education in one PDF document. Campaigners who attended CEGEP in Quebec shouldn’t include their CEGEP reiterations.

Please inform the awards officer responsible for the PETF Education competition at your university to let them know you’ve applied. This ensures that your operation will be included in your university’s selection process. University nominations The Foundation is asking all aspirants to apply directly via its operation platform. Universities aren’t needed to nominate their favored campaigners.
All campaigners who submit completed operations by the December 02, 2024, 5 p.m. EST deadline will be reviewed and assessed by the Foundation. Despite this process, the Foundation remains married to Indigenous representation, verbal representation, a plurality of perspectives and disciplines, as well as other forms of diversity.
