Tulane University International Student Financial Aid offers up to $30,000 in need-based financial aid to international students who qualify and who have not already been awarded that amount or more in merit scholarships. Students must reapply for need-based aid every year.

Eligibility Criteria for Tulane University International Student Financial

To be eligible for International Student Financial Aid, the applicant has to meet all of the following criteria:

  • Applicants must enroll in the full-time degree program
  • International students may compete for all other available merit scholarships
  • Applicants must be international students
  • Applicants must reapply for need-based aid every year.
  • Applicants who have not already been awarded
  • All applicants are considered for partial merit scholarship by completing the Common Application for admission
  • Applicants in Undergraduate programs

International Student Financial Aid

  • Latin American Scholar Award

It is awarded to one or more students from Latin America pursuing studies in the liberal arts or natural sciences. This is a partial or full-cost award renewable for 4 years. Typical recipients demonstrate strong academic and extracurricular credentials.

  • South Asian Scholar Award

This is a partial or full-tuition renewable award for 4 years (5 years for students in the 5-year Architecture program). Recipients of this award are students graduating from high schools in South Asia with outstanding academic records. Nominations are made by the admission committee and based on your application for admission to Tulane and the Tulane Scholarship Application, submitted in your Green Wave Portal.

  • Sub-Saharan Africa Leadership Award

This is a full-tuition scholarship, renewable for 4 years. It is awarded to multiple full-time undergraduate students from and studying in Sub-Saharan Africa. Nominations are made by the admission committee and based on your application for admission to Tulane and the Tulane Scholarship Application, submitted in your Green Wave Portal.

  • Global Scholarship

Recipients of this award are international students with outstanding academic records. This is a partial or full-tuition award that is renewable for 4 years (5 years for students in the 5-year Architecture program).

  • It is suggested that you submit a complete Early Action (November 15) or Early Decision (November 1) application for admission
  • Candidates will be invited to participate in a video interview with the international admission committee by March 31
  • Applicants in the top 20% academically (based on testing and GPA) of the applicant pool are eligible to be considered for the scholarship
  • Nominations are made by the admission committee and based on your application for admission to Tulane and the Tulane Scholarship Application, submitted in your Green Wave Portal

  • Complete Tulane’s Declaration & Certification of Finances
  • Complete the Common Application for admission.
  • Complete the Tulane Scholarship Application, audition, or portfolio on your Green Wave Portal by December 5th.
  • Submit supporting documentation when requested by our Office of Financial Aid
  • Complete the CSS Profile by our financial aid deadlines

About Tulane University International Student Financial Aid

The Scholarships are based on academic merit and financial need, with applicants automatically considered for partial merit scholarships through the Common Application. These include partial and full-tuition awards, renewable for up to 4 years (5 years for students in the Architecture program). Students may be eligible for up to $30,000 in need-based financial aid.

Different Scholarships offered by the Tulane University

  • Artistic Scholarships

These scholarships range from $1,000 to $10,000 and require either an audition or portfolio and in some cases, an interview. Artistic materials are reviewed by our faculty members and recommendations are provided to the admission committee.

  • Musicianship Scholarship

To be considered, you must submit a portfolio.

  • Partial Scholarships

Our partial tuition scholarships, which range up to $32,000 per year, require no special application and are awarded by the admission office based on the strength of the admission application within the context of a given year’s applicant pool.

  • Stamps Scholarship

This award is made possible by generous funding from the Stamps Scholars Program – a nationally prestigious scholarship program – and fund matching by Tulane. Finalists will be invited to interview in the spring. Approximately 5 Stamps Scholarships are awarded each year.

  • Deans’ Honor Scholarship & Paul Tulane Award

These are Tulane’s signature full-tuition scholarships recognizing our most outstanding students across all academic areas of interest. Winners are notified in late February.

  • Louisiana Legislative Scholarship

After submitting your Common Application to Tulane, you will be contacted via your Green Wave Portal to request consideration for this scholarship if you are an eligible resident.
