The Western Union Foundation Global Scholarship Program for 2024

The Western Union Foundation’s mission is to provide training and skills needed to enter and thrive in today’s work environment. They believe education is a key pathway to success, yet it is out of reach for many. That is why the WU Scholars program was launched in 2017 to provide scholarships to typically underserved populations that face difficulties accessing and gaining higher education.

These scholarships will allow students to support themselves, their families, and their communities. Since this initiative was launched they have helped more than 500 students achieve this goal. Through a $400,000 fund, they have supported such students in 2021.

The Western Union Foundation Global Scholarship Program

In this year’s program, the foundation will be giving out two different scholarship opportunities as part of the overall fund. The First is an evolution of the evergreen WU Global Scholars initiative that aims to assist international students from low-income countries studying in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Canada, Singapore, and the United Kingdom.

The second is a renewal Project Finish Line initiative that was launched last year in partnership with Western Union’s Black Advisory Council, to support BIPOC Students in the U.S., the majority studying at Historically Black Colleges and Universities in various STEM and Business fields.

To be invited to formally apply, students must be nominated by a representative from their higher education institution. The eligibility requirements include:
