Macquarie University Scholarship will provide the recipient with the following:

  • This scholarship provides up to $10,000 applied towards your tuition fee.

Eligibility Criteria for Macquarie University Scholarship

To qualify for the Macquarie University Scholarship, you must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Eligible Countries: All World Countries except Australia and New Zealand
  • Required Language: English
  • Meet the Academic and English requirements for a Macquarie University Bachelor or Postgraduate Coursework Degree.
  • Be accepted into a Macquarie University Bachelor or Postgraduate Coursework Degree commencing in 2025 or 2026.
  • Achieve a minimum WAM equivalent of 65 for Postgraduate applications; or a minimum ATAR equivalent of 85 for Undergraduate applications.
  • Enroll and begin your course as per your Letter of Offer. Commencement may not be deferred.
  • Meet the University’s Academic progression policy.
  • Maintain your enrolment throughout your course in a full‐time study load which is 8 standard units per academic year.
  • Students who have received any other Macquarie University scholarship will not be eligible for this scholarship.
  • You are not eligible if you have applied or are currently enrolled at Macquarie University International College.
  • This scholarship is for on-campus study only.
  • You are not eligible if you have applied or are currently enrolled at Macquarie University International College.
  • Suppose you withdraw from your program before completion. In that case, you may be required to repay any scholarship previously awarded during your study period at Macquarie University based on the outcome as decided by the scholarships and grants committee.

You are not eligible if you are a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or hold permanent residency in Australia.

You are not eligible if:

  • You are currently enrolled at Macquarie University for a program that is equivalent in level.
  • You are a citizen of Australia or New Zealand or hold permanent residency in Australia.
  • You are in receipt of another equivalent or major award or scholarship from Macquarie University.
  • You have completed the same level or a higher level of study previously.
  • You are a Study Abroad or an Exchange student coming to Macquarie University.
  • You have applied or are currently enrolled at Macquarie University International College

TENURE for Macquarie University Scholarship

  • Recipients of the scholarship have no further claim to financial support from the University, such as additional tuition scholarship or stipend.
  • Macquarie University reserves the right to amend these Conditions of Scholarship.
  • If applicable, periods of study already undertaken towards the degree before the commencement of the award will be deducted from the maximum period of scholarship tenure.
  • The scholarship award is up to AU$ 10,000 and valid to a standard program as stipulated in the scholarship offer letter.
  • All Scholarship holders are required to seek approval from the Scholarship Administrator before making any changes to their enrolment. This includes any changes such as Return from a leave of absence; Course transfer; Discontinuation of studies; Change in visa status; and Intention to enroll for Session 3 (if applicable).
  • Macquarie University must be satisfied that any part-time work does not interfere with the Scholarship holder’s study program.
  • Scholarship holders may undertake part-time work subject to the conditions of their Student Visa.
  • Scholarship holders, if required, will assist Macquarie University with the promotional activity.

Student Visa Information on the Macquarie University Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship

  • All Australian Student Visas are subject to mandatory conditions that students are required to comply with. These include but are not limited to a limitation on work, maintaining enrolment, and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), and notifying the University of their Residential Address in Australia and any changes to their address. In addition, Student Visas may also have discretionary Conditions which are included in the visa documentation.
  • Upon completing your course and scholarship acceptance process, Macquarie University is required to provide you with an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) to enable you to apply for an Australian student Visa. The eCoE will not be issued until payment of the commencement fee minus the value of the scholarship is remitted.
  • Macquarie University is required by law to report any breach of visa conditions to the Department of Immigration. The Student Visa will be automatically canceled 28 days after such a report is received unless the visa holder can show that no breach occurred.
  • You should take the eCOE to the nearest Australian High Commission to apply for your Student Visa
  • Please note that the Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) has assessment criteria in place for the grant of a visa to study in Australia.
  • Scholarship holders are expected to complete their study within the CRICOS registered length of the course of study.
